Let’s look at the best (and worst) cycling kits for the upcoming season!
Tier “Wouldn’t wear it. Not even as a gift”
17 – Movistar Team
Awful change, in my opinion. The white and blue provided a nice contrast on a very simple jersey. Now they don’t even have that, just different shades of blue, a deformed letter, and some pointless lines as filler.

This remains one of the worst cycling kits in 2022, in my opinion, despite extensive changes. The kit now has a color fade: from light to dark blue. The only improvement is that the title sponsor Jayco is now also a feature which helps fill up the space on the front of jersey.
Tier “Wear it at home… On laundry day”
15 – BORA – Hansgrohe
They went from a very clean jersey in very nicely blended shades of green to some linear abomination that also includes red now. Terrible change, in my opinion.
14 – AG2R Citroën Team
No change. Not the most creative design.
13 – Cofidis
They have long been one of me favorite cycling kits in the peloton but this year they changed it significantly. To worse, my opinion, but the shade of red of still a good pick so the jersey isn’t terrible.
12 – Lotto Soudal
The black near the collar and sleeves was replaced by red. Now the shirt is pretty much all red with a white box in the middle for the sponsors’ names. The colors are not awful but the design is very unimaginative.
Tier “Wear it under a jacket”
11 – Team DSM
Practically nothing changed on what was already a decent kit.
10 – INEOS Grenadiers
The pyramid in the front of the jersey was replaced by the company logo in white. The shoulders are also red instead of black. I don’t hate it but I felt the black with the red pyramid in front looked and fit the team way better.
Very good update to a decent kit. The neon and blue went to the sleeves and the front of the shirt now sports a clean white. Very good.
A lot and nothing changed at the same time. The yellow patches from Lidl that were on the sleeves disappeared which is a major visual change from 2021. The sleeves are now white. The shirt overall is as usual – a very nice, safe choice.
The black on the bottom third of the 2021 jersey was replaced by red. Solid jersey, although I like the 2021 one better.
They replaced the title sponsor from last season with “Qazaqstan”. The 2021 kit was good so there was no reason to change.
Little change to a winning recipe.
Tier “You might get looks”
4 – Team Jumbo-Visma
See Team DSM. The black did disappear from the sleeves which I think was a good choice. All in all, though, that doesn’t make a lot of difference. It remains one of the best kits in the peloton.
3 – Groupama – FDJ
No change. Great kit, as usual.
Vast improvement. Last year’s kit was ok, but a very safe choice – half blue, half white and that was it. This year the colors blend much better and the design looks much more modern. Excellent, in my opinion.
Tier “King of the party”
1 – Trek – Segafredo
The best kit for 2022. Love that the sleeves went from dark to white and that both title sponsors now have their own spot on the jersey instead of sharing a big red block. Congratulation to whoever designed it. I absolutely love it.
